New York, NY and New Bedford, MA – Blue Harvest Fisheries, the industry’s emerging leader for responsibly harvested, high-quality seafood, showcased its strategy for full vertical integration at the Seafood Expo North America today.
The company, which recently launched a new website and refreshed branding following a series of acquisitions, is pioneering a vertically integrated approach that combines environmental stewardship with operational efficiency. The company owns its fleet, harvests responsibly, and maintains control over the facilities that process its products, resulting in higher quality for customers.

Over the last two years, Blue Harvest Fisheries has integrated two vessel and offload companies, The Peabody Company (Newport News, VA) and Harbor Blue Seafood (Fairhaven, MA) in addition to two processing organizations, Hygrade Ocean Products (New Bedford, MA) and High Liner Food’s scallop division (New Bedford, MA). Further to developing the new Blue Harvest Fisheries brand, the company also sells under labels Hygrade and Arctic Cape.
Led by an executive team with decades of experience in the seafood industry and backed by private investment firm Bregal Partners, Blue Harvest owns its fleet and the facilities that process its products for sale to restaurants, wholesalers, and grocery stores across the U.S. and abroad. The company provides scallop, cod, tuna, swordfish, crab, flatfish, and other quality products from MSC-certified sustainable fisheries and maintains SQF level three-certified facilities, meeting or exceeding the highest standards for food processing and packaging.
